This Hawaiian Wedding dress is named for Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop, the last of the Hawaiian monarchy from the lineage of King Kamehameha the Great. A truly luxurious skirt ruffle makes a statement for this wedding dress. Fitted and very dramatic, yet comfortable. Made of our exclusive luxurious herringbone rayon. Machine washable. Made in Hawaii. Part of our Ali`i Wedding Line. Beautiful wedding attire fit for royalty.
The real Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop was intelligent and independent, and fell in love with and married a commoner, Charles Bishop. Sadly, Princess Pauahi never had children of her own, which perhaps became a blessing for all the children of Hawaii in the Princess' will, which created the Kamehameha Schools, currently the wealthiest charitable organization in the United States. Another organization part of the Princess' legacy in Hawaii is the Bishop Museum, founded by the Princess' husband in her honor. If you have the good fortune of having your wedding in Hawaii, we encourage you to stop by the Bishop Museum to learn more about the Hawaiian culture and see Hawaiian artifacts. Hawaii is not only a paradise of beautiful beaches and romantic sunsets, but is a group of islands with rich culture and fascinating history.
