We enjoy designing new beach wedding dresses for our customers. The comments we receive from happy customers about how unique their weddings were, how people loved their wedding dress, and everything else are why we are in business. Also, because we love Hawaii so much, it's extremely gratifying for us to share a bit of Hawaii with people, even when their weddings aren't in Hawaii. It's very heartwarming to know there are other people out there who also love Hawaii -- enough to want to incorporate Hawaii into their weddings, one of the most special events of a person's life.
We strive to make our Hawaiian wedding dresses as special, unique, and contemporary as possible, while incorporating prints that showcase the natural beauty of Hawaii and its plants. We also try to pay homage to tradition, with the holoku or Hawaiian gown, while giving it a modern touch. Most people know what a mu`umu`u is, but not everyone has heard of a holoku.
We'd like to share a bit about our wedding dresses with you:
LAUA`E COLLECTION
The laua`e fern is a beautiful Hawaiian fern that can be found in landscaping throughout the islands. It is also very popular for weddings, even used in cake decorating. This fabric is 100% rayon and drapes beautifully, though it is not as heavy as the ALI`I COLLECTION rayon herringbone. This collection also features wedding dresses that share the styles of our ALI`I COLLECTION. The lau`ae fern design is a jacquard fabric; the laua`e fern design is woven into the fabric itself. It's beautiful! We waited a really long time for this fabric. It was worth the wait. These wedding dresses are very special.
ORIGINAL PIKAKE BRIDAL COLLECTION
These are wedding dresses and Hawaiian wedding shirts that begin with the letter "K," for the most part. This line is made of a polyester/cotton blend to minimize wrinkling and increase breathability. The prints on these wedding dresses and shirts are a white tone-on-tone, giving it a subtle effect. When you are on the beach or just out in the sunlight, these prints are more visible. These wedding dresses can be matched with our Hawaiian wedding shirts and children's clothing and are available in different prints.
ALII COLLECTION
The wedding dresses and wedding shirts in this collection are made with our exclusive print in beautiful herringbone rayon. It has a thick, luxurious draping effect and a subtle, elegant print in sand tones. We also wanted to share a bit of Hawaiian history with our customers, so we named our wedding dresses in honor of some of the Hawaiian royalty. Hawaii has a rich cultural history that sometimes is lost on tourists, as Hawaii's omnipresent natural beauty usually takes center stage when folks travel here. Not that it's anyone's fault by any means; our state markets itself as a beautiful vacation destination, and it is and the scenery is, of course, right there in front of you, whereas culture or history may not be as obviously apparent. So, we wanted to include short histories of significant figures in Hawaiian history to share a bit of Hawaii's rich island heritage with you.
MYSTIC HAWAII COLLECTION
These wedding dresses and wedding shirts are made of our exclusive print in 100% cotton. Cotton has always been the defining fabric, by far, for the aloha shirt, as tropical Hawaii is very humid. For decades, locals have found cotton to be the most comfortable as it is breathable in hot temperatures. Our wedding dresses and Hawaiian wedding shirts in this print feature monstera leaves, tiare (or Tahitian gardenia; the Hawaiian gardenia is called na`u and is very tiny and delicate), ferns, and plumeria.
PUA O' HAWAII COLLECTION Pua means "flower" in Hawaiian. We have named these wedding dresses after flowers found in Hawaii. It's a bit funny as we locals know all the Hawaiian names of flowers, but not necessarily their English equivalents. For example, everyone knows what puakenikeni is, but not everyone knows what ylangylang is. Same with pikake, or jasmine. These wedding dresses and wedding shirts are made of our exclusive ivory rayon. The soft white print features plumeria flowers, ferns, and banana leaves.
CLOSEOUT HAWAIIAN WEDDING DRESSES
These wedding dresses are also made with a polyester/cottton blend. We started offering these to provide a wider selection of wedding dresses while we awaited production on our own lines. Unfortunately, we do not manufacture these wedding dresses ourselves, so there are no matching wedding shirts. However, an alternative would be to have the groom wear one of our Cape Cod Hawaiian wedding shirts, as they are plain white or ivory in cotton or linen (your choice) with no print.
BEACH WEDDING DRESSES
We manufacture some of these beach wedding dresses ourselves here in Hawaii.
All of our Hawaiian wedding dresses and shirts are available in matching keiki clothing as well.
